Vision of Art Plus Shanghai

Art+ Shanghai was founded in October 2007 by four partners who share a long passion and involvement in art. Showcasing established and emerging contemporary artists, Art+Shanghai has its pulse on the sprawling Chinese contemporary art scene.

Art+ Shanghai is a dynamic art space located on 22 Fumin Lu, House 2 in the heart of the former French concession, Art+Shanghai echoes Shanghai international tone with its vibrant and stimulating projects. The intimate gallery setting and courtyard extension is a high profile gallery dedicated to the exhibition, promotion and development of contemporary art in Shanghai. It maintains a groundbreaking program of small scale solo exhibitions and group shows that introduce exciting new work to local audiences.

Art+ Shanghai is devoted to the promotion of established and upcoming Chinese artists with a focus on unique artistic style and high quality artwork.Art+Shanghai artists maintain an openness to embrace outside ideas while maintaining their own national identity and creating a rousing art scene.Through its network of partner galleries Art+Shanghai curates exhibitions in the US and Europe and likewise represents artists and artworks from abroad.

Art+ Shanghai aims to bring to the art world original visions, new ideas and shared knowledge though intimate gatherings with artists, critics and experts from various creative industries. In addition to mounting exhibitions the gallery aims to stimulate and celebrate the diversity of Chinese contemporary art by discovering new talent and fostering a dialogue between artists and the public.

Art+ Shanghai’s Exhibitions are supported by artist talks that serve to make their work more accessible to a wider range of audiences. In addition to the onsite art library, Art+Shanghai promotes regular events for artists and audiences to engage in cultural and creative ideas.
