Wang Lang
Born in Shanghai, Wang Lang graduated from the Shanghai Gongyi School of Art in 1988. After graduation he traveled to Xinjiang and Tibet to work as a herding sheep. Later he took up residence as a sculptor and muralist at the Lushan monastery in Jiangxi province. In 1996 he returned to Shanghai and after several years of painting began working in advertising and design. Wang moved to Beijing in 2005 where he currently resides as an artist.
His selected solo exhibitions include, Panoramic Eyes Media Art Exhibition: Wang Lang and His Fictitious Pixel, Shanghai Art & Culture Center (Shanghai, 2009); Three Unities: Implemental Photography, DDM Warehouse (Shanghai, 2007). Major group shows include, Without Kaos, Museum of Contemporary Art (Beijing, 2010); Allegorical Aftermath, Shanghai Gallery of Art (Shanghai, 2009); Reawakening, China Visual Arts Center (Beijing, 2008); China is Next Door, Mediterranean Gallery (Palermo, Italy, 2007).
